Trapper Creek Bluegrass Festival stage band actThe Trapper Creek Bluegrass Festival is kind of the official kick-off to the Alaskan summer bluegrass festival season. When the former promoter of Hunter Creek and other Rail-belt music festivals, Ken Terry died, Boot stepped up and filled the void. This bluegrass festival is about as old-timey Alaska style as you can get. I Know Boot, and I know how important this festival is to him--it's gets better every year. Three full nights of pickin' and grinnin' Psychobilly, Bluegrass and Folk Rock with a little honky-tonk thrown in to keep it shakin'. Check the posters from past festivals below to see what I mean. If You want to sign on for this Bluegrass festival on Memorial Day weekend, he is booking acts now.

smilies/grin.gif Got back this a.m. from the bluegrass festival 2009. Had a great time... even tho I am over 50. The young folks all had a blast, I didn't hear a harsh voice on anyone's mellow. If I can I will share some of the photos I took at the venue. Truly loved being a part of it... the crazy costumes, the great music and everyone just getting along and having fun.
